The Cryogenics and Space Qualification department carries out vacuum/thermal environment and vibration tests for the development, qualification, calibration and acceptance of space instruments before their launch into space.
Its qualified personnel are trained in the working methods applied in the space industry and required by the International Space Agencies. It has built up its experience by participating in some of the most important international space research projects of the last twenty years: ROSETTA, MIRI, COROT, HERSCHEL, EUCLID.

Context
Upon receipt of a test request (vacuum/thermal or vibration) from the team responsible for the development of the instrument to be tested, the dedicated CQS staff must define and size the configuration and the test resources required to carry it out. He/she figures out the activities to be carried out in terms of human resources, financial resources and duration and ensures their follow-up as well as the implementation of the means to be developed. He/she carries out all the assembly of the test configuration and carries out the requested test. All activities are carried out under quality control using ESA ECSS standards.
