Galaxy Evolution Circle

Dear all, The Galaxy Evolution Circle will restart in a different format. Every two weeks, we will pick-up a particular subject. The idea will be to create a round table where we will discuss the following points: – An small introduction. – Classic and recent articles. – Active (LAM) people working on the subject. – Instruments. – On-going and future projects. – Perspective. For our second G.E Circle (28/Oct./15h at Mistral room) we propose to discuss Star formation in The WM and nearby galaxies. The idea is to maintain the discussion lively and informal. We look forward to have your presence in person.

Cafe-Club, Patrice THEULÉ (LAM): “Warm temperature formation of interstellar molecular hydrogen on a carbonaceous surface”

Patrice THEULÉ (LAM): "Warm temperature formation of interstellar molecular hydrogen on a carbonaceous surface". You can find the schedule of upcoming café-clubs and the video of old ones here. Take care, Carlo, Meriam, Mathilde ---------------- ABSTRACT Molecular hydrogen is a key ingredient and the physics and chemistry of the interstellar medium. The micro-physics of its formation […]

Speaker: Dominique Eckert Title: Probing the nature of dark matter and modified gravity with massive galaxy clusters Abstract: In spite of its numerous successes, the LambdaCDM model of cosmology is fundamentally incomplete, in the sense that 95% of the postulated matter-energy content is in an unknown form. Specifically, the LambdaCDM model postulates the existence of […]

Speaker: Camille Bergez-Casalou Title: Simultaneous accretion of giant planets or how giant planets fight for food Abstract: Among the thousands of exoplanetary systems observed nowadays, some of them host multiple giant planets, like in our Solar System. These giants are probably formed from the same protoplanetary disc. I'm going to present our recent paper where […]
